Delicious Diamonds · Bespoke Luxury Commerce
A luxury chocolate house rebuilt as a bespoke commerce platform — boutique, made-to-measure coffrets, private commissions and an invite-only collectors' circle. Frontend and backend written from zero on a 30+ table schema, with AI in the atelier.
Delicious Diamonds is a chocolate atelier in Leiria, making handmade bonbons in small numbered runs since 2018. Off-the-shelf e-commerce could sell a box. It could not sell this.
The house needed a platform that behaved like the product: editorial, precise, quietly exclusive. Not a storefront wearing a theme — a system where a client can compose a coffret piece by piece, commission a one-off directly from the chef, be read for taste and matched to a wine, and, if invited, step into a private circle with a direct line to the kitchen.
We wrote the whole thing from zero. No template, no page builder: a custom frontend and a custom backend on a schema that grew past 30 tables — catalogue and variants, made-to-measure rules and minimums, baskets and orders, accounts, commissions, memberships, editorial content, bilingual copy, scheduling and messaging.
Boutique & À Medida. A signature range alongside a build-your-own coffret: choose a format, select the bonbons, hand-assembled on the day it ships — with per-variety minimums enforced in the basket.
Peça Única. Private commissions. A client briefs the chef, who reviews every request personally and proposes a price back through the platform.
O Círculo. Invite-only. A private members' chat, a direct line to Chef Joana Marinho, priority on limited numbered editions, and a bonbon made only for the circle.
Perfil de Sabor. Seven questions that map a palate — intensity, texture, the wine at the table — into pairings and the right coffret.
AI in the atelier. An assistant that helps the chef develop and pressure-test new creations — flavour directions, pairings, seasonal ideas — feeding the Sugestão do Chef.
The rest of the house. Monthly letter, agenda, concierge, tasting bookings, partners and journal — bilingual PT/EN throughout.
The art direction runs through the code, not over it: Roman numerals, a boutique that opens and closes with the atelier, sound you can switch off, and 1% of every sale removing CO² from the atmosphere.
A demanding build, and the most complete system we've shipped for a consumer brand: one platform that sells, composes, commissions, profiles and hosts a private membership — without a single line of borrowed e-commerce.
The result reads like the chocolate itself: restrained on the surface, obsessive underneath. See it live at deliciousdiamonds.pt.
