Radar — where the country is buying

Radar puts every notice our tender radar read — 1,399 of them, from Portal BASE, Diário da República and TED — on one page. Search titles and buyers, filter by any of 41 sectors or by the digital & communication group, click a district, and sort by newest, closing soonest or value. Every notice links to its official announcement.

A map that reshapes itself

Portugal is drawn in ridge lines. Each line is a slice of the country, and its peaks rise with the tenders in view: Lisbon and Porto are the mountains. Pick a sector or type a word and the landscape redraws — search «vídeo» and the peaks move to where video is being bought. Click a district to light its ridges and read only its notices; hover a notice and its district lights up.

How it works

• The district outlines (Natural Earth, public domain) are painted once to an offscreen canvas as a lookup mask, so the page knows which district owns every point of the country.
• Each row of the map is a line whose height is a sum of peaks centred on each district, weighted by its share of the tenders in view. Rows are filled before they are stroked, so nearer rows hide the ones behind.
• District comes from the buyer's name; national bodies — ministries, agencies, the armed forces — are grouped apart. Sector comes from the notice's CPV code.
• No build step and no dependencies: plain SVG, one canvas and vanilla JavaScript.

The data is a snapshot, and deadlines count from the day it was taken. The radar behind it is the tool we built so we stop missing tenders that fit the studio; the story is in the tender radar that found nothing on day one. It detects; it never submits anything.
