ueiv is a notification system accompanied by an app (iOS & Android). ueiv uses bluetooth emitting devices to do indoor location, and based on that location, suggest the nearest establishments registered in the system.
In the app you can filter the establishments by category and “type” of advertisement they are doing (promotions, vouchers, simple advertising or information).
With the app you have access to a map with all the registered points in the system, thus knowing which are closer to you.
So far, nothing really new.
The innovative part is the use of the Physical Web system that allows modern equipments to receive these same notifications WITHOUT the need to install the app.
Using the Physical Web, and with the tests created in a case-study with McDonalds, we can confirm that at this time, which the technology is fairly new, is the emitting device is well placed, you can send over 4 000 notifications per day (this number occurred in several of the 11 days of the case study).
The numbers of the case-study were all gathered without the mobile app (on purpose), to test the “range” of the Physical Web in 2016 in Portugal.
